Data FAQ

At Broome, we are committed to protecting your privacy and securing your information.

Broome Platform Data FAQ

1. File Storage and Privacy

Broome integrates seamlessly with your existing file-sharing services (such as Dropbox or Box). We do not store your files in any Broome-owned service. We retain references (such as file paths or unique identifiers) that allow you to access your documents via your connected file-sharing service.

2. Document Descriptions

Broome does not store your documents. We may create and store short summaries, metadata, or descriptive tags solely to help you more easily locate information and conduct analysis.

3. Data Privacy and Sharing

Your data is your own. Broome never sells, shares, or rents any user-provided data, file references, or metadata to third parties or other users under any circumstances.

4. Data Security

All data transmitted between Broome and connected file services is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (such as HTTPS and OAuth 2.0).

Access to your data is strictly limited to authenticated users and authorized Broome personnel for support and maintenance purposes only.

5. User Control and Data Deletion

You have full control over your data. You can disconnect your file-sharing accounts from Broome at any time.

If you choose to delete your Broome account, all associated file references and metadata will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days of your request.

6. Compliance

Broome is committed to complying with applicable data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

Users retain full ownership of their data at all times.

7. Logging and Analytics

Soley, to improve our platform and user experience, Broome may collect usage data (such as feature usage statistics).

8. Use of Large Language Models (LLMs)

Any AI-powered features in Broome (such as document summarization) are designed with strict privacy controls. No user data, document content, or metadata is used to train any large language model — by the third-party model providers we may use.

All interactions with LLMs occur in stateless, ephemeral sessions that do not learn from your inputs in any way.

AI Providers

Broome operates under Zero Data Retention (ZDR) agreements with all AI providers listed below. No customer data is stored or used for model training by any provider.
